We have our first look at Michael Fassbender in costume for the upcoming adaptation of Assassin’s Creed.
Yahoo! has released an image of Fassy in full garb as Callum Lynch, check it out here:
At least we know they have nailed the look of Lynch. Here is the official synopsis for Assassin’s Creed as well, for anyone unfamiliar with the game:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Assassin’s Creed has a supreme opportunity here, to be the first legitimate film – dare I say art house action film – based on a video game. Marion Cotillard joins Michael Fassbender in the film, directed by Justin Kurzel. Kurzel just wrapped production on the upcoming Macbeth adaptation, also starring the two actors.
To this point, admirable, even watchable, video-game adaptations are practically nonexistent.
Do you have hope for Assassin’s Creed?
