Marvel’s Captain Marvel already has it’s lead, now it’s time to choose a director.
The list for who will helm the studio’s first female-centric film has been whittled down to three, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lesli Linka Glatter, Niki Caro and Lorene Scafaria are the three directors on the shortlist.

The Shortlist
All three candidates have impressive resumes.
Fans of Showtime’s Homeland will recognize Glatter’s work. She’s the main director on the hit show. Glatter has also directed episodes of The Newsroom, True Blood, Mad Men and ER.
Caro directed 2002’s Whale Rider. Her follow-up film was North Country, starring Charlize Theron.
Before moving to the director’s chair, Scafaria wrote the screenplay for Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. She then directed Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley.
A final decision isn’t likely to come until the end of the summer. There’s also the possibility of other names surfacing.
Captain Marvel tells the story of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), an Air Force pilot who gains super powers when her DNA absorbs alien genetic material.
Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) wrote the script. Kevin Feige is producing.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
