It was only yesterday when Netflix’s acclaimed animated series BoJack Horseman returned for its third season, but the streaming site doesn’t like to waste time. It was announced that the binge-friendly program will return a fourth season, presumably to air sometime next year. Prepare the drinks!
The news came from the character’s official Twitter page, stating simply that “guys. season 4… is happening!” They also addressed his fans with some noteworthy hashtags, most notably #ibingedtoohardlastnight. Although show creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg is in higher demand than ever these days, particularly as the new screenwriter behind The Lego Movie Sequel and also the author behind an upcoming short story collection entitled Someone Who Will Love You in All Your Damaged Glory: Bang-Your-Knee, Bust-Your-Heart-Open Love Stories, it looks like he’s not too busy to keep his beloved series going strong. Hopefully that won’t impact the quality of his stellar series, but I don’t see that being the case.
Details are slim at the moment, as they usually are, but it’s safe to assume that this will be another 12-episode season, and that Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Paul F. Tompkins, Aaron Paul and Amy Sedaris will return to the recording booth, along with a boatload of celebrity cameos. I’m still behind on the third season, unfortunately, but I’m told it’s the best one to date — and that’s certainly not an easy feat. I’m planning to check it out sooner than later, however, and this is some very, very encouraging news — especially if the finale is as bleak as some have made it out to be …
